Ang idinaos na 94th Academy Awards ay gumawa ng mga makasaysayang panalo, pati na rin ang ilang hindi inaasahang drama.
Ginanap sa Dolby Theater sa Hollywood, Los Angeles noong Linggo ng gabi, ang seremonya ay naghatid ng mga makasaysayang panalo, pati narin ang kontrobersyal na pagsampal ni Will Smith sa host na si Chris Rock dahil sa hindi nito nagustuhan ang joke ni Chris tungkol sa pagpapakalbo nh kanyang asawa na si Jada Pinkett Smith.
Ang “CODA” ay nanalo ng Best Picture at ito rin ang unang pelikulang ginawa ng isang streaming service na nanalo ng prestihiyosong parangal.
Samantala, si Ariana DeBose ang naging unang queer black woman na nanalo ng Oscar. Nanalo siya bilang Best Supporting Actress para sa kanyang pagganap sa “West Side Story“.
Si Troy Kotsur naman sa pelikulang “CODA”, ang naging unang deaf actor na nanalo ng Academy Award para sa kanyang mahusay na pag-arte.
