Ito ay matapos sabihin ni Claudine na humahanga ang yumaong si Rico Yan at ang pamilya nito kay Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte. Ito ay ayon sa kanyang komento sa Instagram.
Ayon pa kay Claudine: “It was about year 2000 when we met with President Duterte. In that same year we met Maam Sara & lastly BBM. Rico looked up to these people. Our whole family is BBM only Marjorie & her kids are Leni. Tita Sita Yan & I & my mom BBM rin po. Pls let us all respect everybody. Stay safe and God bless all of you.”
Noong Oktubre ng nakaraang taon ay nag-file si Claudine at ang kanyang talent manager na si Arnold Vegafria ng kanilang mga certificate of candidacies (COCs) sa Olangapo City.
Si Claudine ay tumatakbong konsehal, habang si Arnold naman ay tumatakbo bilang alkalde sa ilalim ng Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) party at lokal na partidong “Anak ng Gapo Coalition.”
Dahil sa pahayag na ito ni Claudine ay kinastigo siya ng mga netizens sa Twitter. Sinabihan din siya tigilan na ang paggamit sa pangalan ni Rico para diumano sa kanyang pansariling kapakanang pulitikal.
